How to insert Google Adsense Link Units in your articles
I have to say Joomla is a really cool CMS application. It is so easy to use.
You may have noticed that some Joomla websites have Google adsense link units in their articles. Well you can easily do this with the Fandangle Adsense module.
If you haven't installed the fandangle adsense module go to this page to download it and follow the instructions on how to install it in your Joomla website.
To start we go in the Administrator backend to the top menu bar and select Extensions --> Module Manager
You will see a list of all the modules in the Module Manager page.
Go to the filter section on the right hand side of the module page and select type: mod_fandangle_adsense
Now that you can see a list of your mod_fandangle_adsense modules
Make a copy of one of you fandangle_adsense modules.
On the top right menu bar click the 'Copy' button.
This will copy the you module and create a new module called 'Copy of Home Top Right'
Click the copy of the module so you can edit it. This will take you to the Module editing page. Now I want to put this ad link unit at the bottom of my article.
1. Change the title of the module. I called it HomeMidBot (meaning home page and bottom of my article)
2. Now here is the trick, you can only do this in Joomla 1.5. Don't click the arrow for the position drop down box. Simply click inside the text box and type 'homemidbot'
(once again meaning home page, middle and bottom of the article)
Also make sure 'Show Title' is ticked no. You don't want the title of the module showing in the middle of the article. And make sure you have selected 'Enabled' as Yes so the ad will appear in the article.
Now we need to select the page the module will appear in
1. We chose Select Menu Item(s)
2. We then select the page we want the Google ad to appear. In this example we choose 'Home'. This will assign the ad to the Home page.
Now go to one of your articles and edit it.
Where ever you want to insert a fandangle adsense module in your article, type;
As you remember I called my module homemidbot. This is important you must type the name of your module exactly to its name after the loadposition statement
Save your article and Wella...!!! you have an ad link unit in your article.
