Microsoft XP updates

I am really surprised how many of my family and friends are not up to speed in using Windows XP especially when it comes to security when surfing on the internet. This tutorial will be one of many tutorials that will help you understand what you can do to protect your self from the internet nasties.

It is really important that you keep your computer updated with security patches and updates to Windows XP.

Now someone asked me an interesting question which some of us in the know take for granted “does it cost money to download the updates”?  The answer is No! it’s free…

But beware… you need to go to the right place for the updates.

This tutorial will explain how you can update your Windows XP with Microsoft patches and updates.

Here are the steps

1.)    Click the 'start' button on the bottom left hand side of your screen
2.)    Right click the 'My Computer' Icon

 
3.)    A drop down list will appear, Select ‘Properties’

4.) The ‘System Properties’ Pop up box will appear, Select ‘Automatic Updates’

5.)    Click ‘Windows Update Website’

 This will take you to the Microsoft Web page that will automatically determine what updates your computer will need. Accept all the updates. It is important to keep you computer updated and protected.
